Arrival in Almaty
Arrive in Almaty, where you will be warmly greeted at the airport with a personalized name card. Transfer to your hotel and complete the check-in process. The rest of the day is free for you to relax or explore the area around your hotel at your own pace.
After breakfast, embark on an exciting full-day excursion. At 08:00 AM, you’ll be picked up from your hotel and driven to the spectacular Charyn Canyon, about a 3-hour journey with stops along the way, including the striking Black Canyon. Take an easy 30–40 minute hike along the canyon’s flat terrain and return via an eco-taxi safari. For lunch, enjoy a packed meal or dine at Tary Restaurant. Continue the scenic drive to Kolsay Lake, known for its tranquil beauty. In the evening, check in to your guesthouse in Kolsay village and unwind in this peaceful natural setting.
Enjoy breakfast at the guesthouse before checking out and heading to Kaindy Lake, approximately a 40-minute drive. Here, you can optionally take a horse ride around the lake and marvel at the submerged trees of the so-called “upside-down forest.” After your visit, return to Kolsay for lunch at the guesthouse. Begin your drive back to Almaty (approx. 4 hours) with scenic stops for photos and rest breaks. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel in Almaty.
Today begins with a morning pick-up from your hotel for a day of alpine adventure and urban exploration. First, drive to the renowned Shymbulak Ski Resort, located at an altitude of 3,200 meters. Enjoy a cable car ride to the mountain summit and take in breathtaking views. The resort offers cafes, restaurants, a rope park, and entertainment. Next, visit the Medeu Skating Rink, the highest ice rink in the world. Later, enjoy free time to explore shopping malls in Almaty before returning to your hotel by evening.
After breakfast, depart for a day immersed in nature. Begin with a drive to Alma Arasan, a serene area perfect for hiking and relaxation. Then visit the Ayusay Center in the Almarasan Gorge and take a scenic walk (15–20 minutes) to the Bear Waterfall, surrounded by lush forest and fresh mountain air. In the afternoon, enjoy a stroll through the First President’s Park, home to a monument celebrating Kazakhstan’s independence. Wrap up the day with a visit to New Square, featuring the Monument of Independence.
Start your final full day with a city sightseeing tour. Visit 28-Panfilov Park, which houses the world’s tallest wooden cathedral and an eternal flame honoring WWII heroes. Explore the bustling Green Market (note: closed on Mondays) and sample local delicacies like kurt, kumys, and kazy. Continue with a walk down the lively Arbat Street, filled with shops, cafes, and street performers. End your day with a visit to Kok-Tobe Hill, where you’ll enjoy panoramic views of Almaty and the surrounding mountains.
