This itinerary takes you on an unforgettable journey through the stunning landscapes of Leh, Nubra Valley, and Pangong Lake. Starting with a scenic drive through the world’s highest motorable road at Khardungla Pass, you’ll visit the Hunder Sand Dunes in Nubra Valley, where optional activities like camel rides and ATV rides await. Next, you’ll head to the breathtaking Pangong Lake, famous for its vibrant color-changing waters, before returning to Leh. Along the way, you’ll explore remote villages, enjoy hot tea at Changla Pass, and take in the beauty of the Shyok River and surrounding mountains. Your adventure concludes with a return to Leh for departure, leaving you with lasting memories of this incredible region.

Itinerary

Arrive at Leh Airport (Kushok Bakula Rinpoche) in the morning, known for its sensational views during the flight. On a clear day, you’ll get glimpses of peaks like K2, Nanga Parbat, and Gasherbrum, with the Nun Kun Massif visible from the other side. After arrival, you’ll be transferred to your hotel where you’ll have time to acclimatize to the high altitude (11,000+ feet). In the afternoon, explore Leh Market, Leh Palace, and the Shanti Stupa to get familiar with the city. Overnight stay in Leh.

After breakfast, head out for a day of local sightseeing. Visit Magnetic Hill, Hall of Fame, Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, and the Sangam where the Indus and Zanskar Rivers meet. Return to Leh for an overnight stay.

After an early breakfast, start your journey to Nubra Valley, located 125 km from Leh. En route, drive through Khardungla Pass, the world’s highest motorable road, at an elevation of 5,602 meters. Upon reaching Nubra, visit the Hunder Sand Dunes. Optional activities like camel rides, a Cultural Dance Show, and an ATV ride are available (at your own cost). If time permits, visit the Diskit Monastery. In the evening, check-in to your hotel/camps in Nubra Valley for dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, drive back towards Leh and take a left turn at Khalsar to reach Shyok and Durbuk. Continue along the steep, scenic route to Tangtse before arriving at Pangong Lake, a famous location featured in films like 3 Idiots and Jab Tak Hai Jaan. The lake, situated on the Indo-China border, is one of the highest saline lakes in the world, known for its changing colors from blue to green to red. Enjoy the spectacular views of the Shyok River and the surrounding mountains. Overnight stay at a campsite near Pangong Lake.

Start your day with breakfast by the stunning Pangong Lake. Drive back to Leh, passing through villages like Durbuk and Tangtse. Stop at Changla Pass for a warm cup of tea before continuing your journey. Arrive in Leh for an overnight stay.

After breakfast, transfer to Leh Airport for your onward flight, taking with you unforgettable memories from your adventure in the stunning landscapes of Ladakh.
