
Himalayan Highlights – Shimla & Manali
Escape into the majestic hills of Himachal with this 6-day journey through Shimla and Manali. Walk along colonial lanes in Shimla, soak in the charm of snow-capped Manali, marvel at Himalayan landscapes from Solang Valley, and enjoy optional adventures like river rafting and paragliding. With scenic drives, historic landmarks, and serene temples, this itinerary offers a perfect blend of nature, thrill, and culture.
Arrive at Chandigarh Airport and proceed by road to the beautiful hill station of Shimla. On arrival, enjoy a relaxed stroll on the Mall Road, visit The Ridge, the historic Scandal Point, and the Christ Church—the second oldest church in North India. Explore Lakkar Bazaar, known for wooden crafts and souvenirs. Later, check-in to your hotel.
After breakfast, proceed towards Manali, enjoying scenic views along the way. Drive past the Beas-Sutlej Link Project, Pandoh Dam, and the breathtaking Kullu Valley. En route, visit a Kullu Shawl Weaving Center to witness traditional handloom work. Optional activities include river rafting in Kullu (subject to availability). Arrive in Manali by evening and check in at the hotel.
After breakfast, enjoy a spectacular drive on the Rohtang Road up to the permitted Snow Point (subject to BSF regulations). Spend time playing in the snow and capturing unforgettable photos. Later, visit Hidimba Devi Temple, nestled among cedar forests, and the serene Himalayan Nyinmapa Tibetan Monastery. In the evening, explore Old Manali Market for handicrafts, woollens, and local street food.
Note: Rohtang Pass remains closed for most of the year due to snow. Snow clothing and boots are available on rent.
Today after breakfast, drive through the iconic Atal Tunnel (subject to operation), the world’s longest tunnel at an altitude of over 10,000 feet. Visit Sissu Village and witness the picturesque Sissu Waterfall. Later, proceed to Solang Valley, famous for its panoramic views and adventure activities. Enjoy a ropeway ride, and adventurous guests may try paragliding, ATV rides, or ziplining (optional at extra cost). Return to Manali in the evening.
Post breakfast, you may opt for an exciting river rafting experience on the Beas River (optional, at approx. ₹500 per person). Later, drive to Chandigarh. On arrival, check in to the hotel and relax after the journey.
Note: River rafting is subject to weather and safety conditions. Minimum weight: 30–35 kg.
After breakfast, if time permits, visit Rock Garden, an artistic marvel created from industrial waste, and the tranquil Sukhna Lake—ideal for a peaceful boat ride. Then, proceed to Chandigarh Airport or Railway Station for your return journey home.
