Guwahati – Cherrapunji – Dawki

Upon your arrival in Guwahati, you will be greeted by our representative who will assist you with your transfer to Shillong. On the way, stop at the picturesque Umiam Lake, renowned for its serene beauty and lush surroundings. Enjoy some time by the lake, where you can partake in boating or simply relax amidst nature. After your visit, continue your journey to Shillong, where you will check into your hotel and spend the evening at leisure, exploring the vibrant local culture.

After breakfast, set off from Shillong to Cherrapunji, a journey of approximately 54 kilometers that takes around 2 hours. En route, visit Elephant Falls, a stunning multi-tiered waterfall that offers fantastic photo opportunities. Upon reaching Cherrapunji, check into your accommodation and take the rest of the day to explore the beautiful surroundings, soaking in the lush greenery and refreshing climate.

This day is dedicated to discovering the natural wonders of Cherrapunji. Start by visiting Nohkalikai Falls, one of the tallest waterfalls in India, where you can marvel at its breathtaking beauty. Next, explore Arwah Cave, known for its limestone formations and fossilized remains. In the afternoon, embark on a trek to the iconic Double Decker Root Bridge, a remarkable example of nature’s engineering. The day will be filled with awe-inspiring sights and experiences.

After breakfast, journey to Dawki, located about 90 kilometers away, taking approximately 2.5 hours. Once in Dawki, visit the crystal-clear Umngot River, famous for its stunning clarity and beautiful surroundings. You can enjoy boating on the river or relax by its banks. Afterward, stop by the nearby village of Shnongpdeng, known for its scenic beauty and vibrant local culture, before heading to your accommodation for the night.

After breakfast, begin your drive back to Shillong, covering around 81 kilometers in about 2 hours. On the way, visit the India-Bangladesh border, where you can witness the unique cultural exchange between the two countries. Continue your journey to Phe Phe Waterfall, a hidden gem where you can enjoy the tranquil surroundings and perhaps take a dip in the refreshing waters. After exploring, return to Shillong and spend the evening at your leisure.

On your final day, after breakfast, you will be transferred back to Guwahati, a distance of approximately 100 kilometers that takes around 3 hours. Depending on your flight schedule, you may have some time for last-minute shopping or sightseeing in Guwahati. Your trip concludes as you arrive at the airport for your departure, filled with cherished memories of your journey through Assam and Meghalaya.
