Upon arrival at Siem Reap International Airport, you’ll be welcomed by our English-speaking guide and transferred to begin your cultural exploration. Start with a visit to the Royal Residence and Royal Garden, followed by a short walk to the Copper Statues of Angkorian Warriors and Preah Ang Chek Preah Ang Chorm Shrine, where locals pray for blessings. Continue to Wat Bo Pagoda, one of the city’s oldest temples, known for its rare Reamker (Ramayana) murals. Next, experience Cambodia’s creative spirit at the Satcha Handicraft Center, home to over 50 artisans practicing traditional Khmer crafts such as carving, weaving, lacquer art, and painting. The structures themselves are crafted from sustainable bamboo, reflecting local innovation. Later, transfer to your hotel and check in.
After breakfast at your hotel, set off on a scenic drive along the Mekong River, passing the Friendship Bridge that links Laos with Thailand. About 25 kilometers from the city, arrive at the remarkable Buddha Park (Xieng Khuan). Spend your morning strolling through the park, marveling at its collection of over 200 surreal and enormous statues depicting Hindu and Buddhist deities. In the afternoon, delve into the art of traditional Laotian textiles with a visit to Carol Cassidy’s Lao Textiles Studio. Carol, an American weaving expert who came to Laos in 1989, works with a team of skilled local artisans to produce stunning silk pieces using traditional techniques like tapestry, brocade, and ikat. Her studio is a beautiful fusion of ancient tradition and contemporary design (subject to Carol’s availability).
After breakfast, enjoy free time at your leisure to relax or explore nearby on your own. Later, our team will transfer you to the airport for your onward journey, marking the end of your cultural escape in Laos.
