Itinerary
Arrive at Paro Airport and transfer to Thimphu, Bhutan’s capital. After hotel check-in and refreshment, visit Kuenselphodrang to see the majestic Buddha Dordenma and enjoy panoramic valley views. Later, explore the National Memorial Chorten and Tashichho Dzong, the administrative and monastic seat of Bhutan. Overnight stay in Thimphu.
After breakfast, drive to Punakha/Wangdue via the scenic Dochu-La Pass (10,334 ft.), offering views of the Himalayas and the 108 Druk Wangyel Chortens. On arrival, check in at the hotel. Visit the historic Punakha Dzong and later hike to Chhimi Lhakhang, the Temple of Fertility. Overnight at Punakha/Wangdue.
After breakfast, drive to Paro (7,483 ft.), stopping en route at Lamperi to explore the Royal Botanical Park, home to 36 rhododendron species and over 220 bird varieties. In Paro, visit Ta Dzong, the National Museum, and Rinpung Dzong, the administrative center. Evening at leisure. Overnight stay at Paro.
After breakfast hike to the famous Taktsang Monastery - called “Tiger’s Nest” (2hrs hike from the base camp). Later visit Drukgyel Dzong & Kyichu Monastery. Overnight stay at Paro.
After breakfast check out from hotel and drive to Paro Airport for your onward journey with beautiful memories.
