Tour Plan
Day 01: Arrival at Nepalganj
Arrival at Nepal India Border meet with our People and drive to Nepalganj arrive check in hotel rest, Briefing session will be planned this evening, for which the guide will decide. Night stay at your hotel/guesthouse in Nepalganj.
Day 02: Fly Nepalganj - Simikot (3415 m) – Airlift to Hilsa by Helicopter, walk uphill to Sher and drive to Taklakot (3865 m) 40 km / 2 hrs approx
Today after early breakfast transfer to the Nepalgunj airport from where you board your scheduled flight to Simikot on fixed wing aircraft. On arrival at Simikot you will get a chartered helicopter which will ferry the group to Hilsa which has an non-metallic air-strip. On arrival at Hilsa our sherpa team will escort the group on a 45 minutes trek to the Tibetan Border city Sher. Here at Sher, you will find our vehicles (jeeps/van/bus) waiting for you to take the group to Taklakot after completing custom and immigration formalities. On arrival at Taklakot (Burang) check into Hotel for night stay.
Day 03: Day free for acclimatization at Taklakot (Burang)
This day will be free at Taklakot to acclimatize you to undertake the most difficult pilgrimage of Mount Kailash Mansarovar Yatra. Do nothing beside rest at Taklakot and stay at your hotel. You may also take short trek/walk and visit local markets, if interest.
Day 04 : Drive to Chui Gompa, Mansarovar (4590 m) 110 km/ 4 - 5 hrs.
The ultimate of your Mount Kailash Yatra awaits for you today. Today you will have the first darshan of Holy Lake Mansarovar. After breakfast we take a drive to Chui Gompa (4560 m) through a rough terrain via Rakshas Taal. Besides taking bath in the Holy Lake Mansarovar you will also have free time for puja and havan at your own cost (on Full moon trips, it will be a full moon day at Mansarovar). After all this if time permits we will also visit the Hot Spring (additional charges for bathing in Hot Spring not covered in the package). Night stay will be at your guest house in near the lake Manasarovar.
Day 05 : 35 kms drive Mansarovar to drive to Tarboche. Trek to Dirapuk (12 kms / 5-6 hrs).
After breakfast we drive to Tarboche which is also known as Shershong. Enroute we will visit Yama Dwar. Enter the holy gate and continue further to Tarboche. At Tarboche you will meet Yak and Yak men. This is the starting point of the parikrama and the first day of kora. If you wish to hire a Yak and a porter to carry your luggage, you have to take from here only. During the trek you will today have the first darshan of Holy Mt. Kailash (North face). Today we will stay at our camp at Dirapuk.
Important note :Â Yatris who are not willing to go for the Mt. Kailash parikrama will return back to Darchen from here and will wait for the other group members in their guest house at Darchen or Mansarovar.
Day 06 : Trek to Zuthulphuk (5600 m) – 22 kms / 9-10 hrs trek.
Early morning after having stunning view of Golden Kailash, we start our trek uphill. This is going to be the most difficult day of Kailash Yatra trip and full of climax. One should be prepared for tough climatic conditions and challenging trek. We trek just under the Holy Mount Kailash. The trek will bring you to Dolma La Pass (5800m) which is the highest points of the trek to Mount Kailash. The trek is rocky and steep upward and then downward. From here we descend towards gradual field of Zuthulphuk. When you move down from Dolma La you will see Gauri Kunda. From the valley below the walk becomes pleasant and relaxing a bit. The path takes you through some gentle slopes over the grassy field. Reach Zuthulphuk and stay in a guesthouse/camp.
Day 07 : Zuthulphuk to Darchen trek 10 km/ 3 - 4 hrs. and drive to Taklakot 110 km/ 3-4 hrs
Breakfast will be served near the guesthouse/camp and one can enjoy the morning time in exploring the caves, visiting the temples and shrine built around. Here you will see a married old couple supervising the temple. The temple is a residence for over half a dozen Tibetan devotees, helpers or relatives who keep busy themselves busy with the maintenance of the buildings. The cave also contains meditation platforms.
Climbing up to these caves before ending the final trek of the holy Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is worth. After a 10 kms / 3-4 hours walk we reach to the final destination of our Mansarovar Yatra trek near Darchen. (Those who could not do parikarma would be waiting to welcome other group members at this point). Our vehicles will be waiting to take the group to the hotel in Taklakot for overnight stay.
Day 08: Taklakot to Nepalgunj via Simikot (Drive + Helicopter + Flights)
IN the morning drive to China-Nepal border near Hilsa. After immigration formalities cross the border and from Hilsa take helicopter flight to Simikot. At Simikot depending on weather conditions you will be connected with flight to Nepalgunj. Stay in the hotel at Nepalgunj
Day 09: Drive to Nepal/India Border.
After breakfast at hotel and drop to Border.
