Tour Plan
Day 01: Kolkata – Bishnupur via Jayrambati & Kamarpukur (170 kms / 4 hrs)
Morning transfer to Bishnupur. Enroute visit Kamarpukur renowned world over as the birthplace of the great Indian saint Sri Ramakrishna is frequented by lakhs of visitors from around the world every year. Now you will drive about 7 Km west of Kamarpukur is Jairambati, known to be the birthplace of Sarada Devi, wife of Sri Ramakrishna. Worshipped as the “Holy Mother”, Sarada Devi is better known as “Ma Sarada”. This village with its sacred traditions has now become a holy place of pilgrimage, particularly among followers of Sri Ramakrishna. It is the Matri Mandir in the centre of Jairambati which draws large number of visitors from around the world. Also known as Jairambati Math, the Matri Mandir is in fact a beautiful temple built exactly on the place where the Holy Mother was born. Later drive to Bishnupur. On arrival check in at hotel & rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay at Bishnupur.
Day 02: Bishnupur Sightseeing - Shantiniketan (120 kms / 3 hrs)
After breakfast visit temples where you can find unique art of Terracotta covering Jore Bunglow Temple, Madanmohan Temple, Chhinnamasta Temple, Dalmadal Kaman & Rasmancha. You can visit weaving centre of famous Sarnachuri & Baluchuri Sarees. In the afternoon transfer to Shantiniketan. This place was founded in 1901 by Noble Laureate Shri. Rabindra Nath Tagore who visualized a perfect harmony of humanity with nature. Arrive & Check in at hotel & rest of the day at leisure. Overnight stay at Shantiniketan.
Day 03: Shantiniketan Sightseeing
After breakfast visit, Visva - Bharati University Campus, the complex at "Uttarayan" (Udayan, Shyamali, Konarak, Udichi & Punaschha houses of Tagore), Art Gallery, Museum & Amar Kutir (Handicraft Center) near Kopai River. Afternoon visit Khoai Hat near Sonajhuri forest to experience the tribes and their life, art, song and dance. Evening free at leisure. Overnight stay at Shantiniketan.
Note: University and Uttarayan Complex remain closed on Wednesday (fullday) & Thursday (halfday)
Day 04: Shantiniketan - Kolkata (210 kms / 4 hrs)
In the morning after breakfast drive back to Kolkata with sweet memories to transfer to airport or railway station.
Note: It is advisable to arrive Kolkata one day earlier or reach by early morning flight/train latest by 10 AM to start your tour and book your departure train/flight during evening only after 6 PM.
