China Visa Requirements – Mumbai Consulate
1. Application Submission
- Applicants must come personally for submission.
2. Visa Application Form
- Fill out the online visa application form at the
- Provide detailed and truthful information.
- Print the confirmation page after completion.
3. Passport Requirements
- Original passport valid for at least 6 months from travel date.
- Minimum 2 blank pages.
- 2 copies of passport bio-data pages.
- Attach all old passports (if any).
4. Photo Specifications
- Two recent passport-size photographs (35mm x 45mm).
- Matt finish, 80% face coverage, white background, no border.
- Photos not older than 3 months.
- No scanned/stapled photos.
- Photos must not have been used in any previous visas.
5. Covering Letter
- On company letterhead, addressed to:
To, The Consulate General of The People’s Republic of China, Mumbai.
- Must include:
- Place(s) to visit
- Name, address, and contact number of inviting company/person
- Authorized person’s signature and company stamp.
6. Invitation Letter
- Original letter on company letterhead or trade fair invitation.
- Addressed to:
To, The Consulate General of The People’s Republic of China, Mumbai.
- Must contain:
- Applicant details: Full name, gender, date of birth.
- Visit details: Purpose, arrival & departure dates, places to visit, relation with inviter, financial source.
- Inviter details: Name, contact number, address, official stamp, and Chinese signature of the legal representative.
7. Additional Supporting Documents
- Copy of inviter’s ID card (both sides) or legal representative’s ID.
- If foreign national: Passport copy + valid work visa/national ID card (front & back).
- Copy of Business License of inviting company.
- For foreign nationals in India: Long-term residence or work permit.
- For multiple-entry visa: Copies of all previous Chinese visas.
8. Processing Time
- Fast Track: 3 working days.
- Normal: 4–5 working days.
9. Important Notes
- The Consulate may request additional documents.
- Visa fees are subject to change without prior notice.
