  • Limited tickets are issued per agent for MG National Park, Ross Island Sound and Light Show, Cellular Jail Sound, and Light Show. Sometimes due to heavy rush tickets becoming sold out, we reserve the right to change the trip to an alternate itinerary.

 

  • Some Budget Hotels do not have a generator and only an inverter for power back up and in case of load shedding only fan and light will work on back up and that too for a few hours.

 

  • NO WiFi/Internet Facility is available at any Hotel at Havelock and only Deluxe/ Luxury/ Premium Hotels have WiFi/ Internet facility and that too in lobby only.

 

  • Please share the exact names as per valid Photo ID if there is a mismatch in the Ferry ticket and ID proof, a new ticket will need to be made and guests will need to pay for the same.

 

  • Elephant Beach/ Light House visits are decided by the Boat association subject to weather conditions.

  • Being a small island run by the Governor, many times Public Holidays are announced at a short notice for which we have no prior information due to which most Sightseeing Places are closed.

 

  • The guests are advised to maintain the schedule given for the sightseeing /transfers due to a shortage in space for parking.

 

  • We reserve the right to make changes or omit any place of a visit if it becomes necessary due to bad weather.

 

  • The security concerns, driver’s working hours, etc. will be kept in mind while planning the tour and sightseeing.

Lohagad Fort

Lohagad Fort can be the quintessential one-day destination for those all who seek weekend pleasure in various adventurous activities or treks. This lovable fort lies merely 66 km away from Pune and 11 km away from Lonavala. Easy to climb, readily approachable from Pune and Mumbai, and Ariel view of Pawna lake establishes itself to be very demanding in people of all age groups.

Sinhagad

The fort that has a very special place in heart of every Marathi person for its tragic history, is Sinhagad. Shivaji Maharaj renamed this fort “Sinhagad” after the loss of Maratha warrior Tanaji Malusare while fighting for the victory, it was called “Kondana” earlier. Located 30 km from Pune, it offers a quick getaway from the city bustle despite the increasing commercialization.

Shivneri Fort

Another fort that is immensely popular amongst trekkers in Pune is Fort Shivneri for its close relevance to Shivaji Maharaj. Built in the era of Satavahanas, Shivneri Fort is the birthplace of Shivaji Maharaj and he spent his entire childhood here as well. Around 94 km away from Pune, this fort is situated near Junnar in the Pune district.

Tikona Fort

At a distance of 25 km from Lonavala and 53 km from Pune, Tikona Fort is said to be structured in the ‘Maval’ region. As the name suggests, this fort was constructed in a triangle shape and is situated near Pawna lake. Difficulty-wise, this Trek ranks on the easier scale and can be enjoyed with families, however beloved amongst trekkers from all over Maharashtra.

Rajgad Fort

Termed as Murumdev formerly, Rajgad served as the capital of the Maratha Empire for 25 years, before shifting to Raigad. Set at 54 km from Pune, this enormous fort acquires an area of 40 km at the base. Suvela Machi, Padmavati Machi, Balekilla, Pali Darwaza are some of the places on the fort that you would not want to miss at any cost while climbing up here.

Rajmachi Fort

Rajmachi Fort was strategically constructed to control the Borghat. Borghat is located between Khopoli and Khandala; that served as a trade route historically. Located at the distance of 15 km from Lonavala and 82 km from Pune, there are two routes to climb up the Rajmachi Fort, one from Lonavala and another from Karjat. However, it is advisable to take a Lonavala route for beginners. Camping is preferred here at night by many trekkers.

Visapur Fort

Built by the first Peshwa of the Maratha Empire, Balaji Vishwanath, Visapur Fort is 18 km away from Lohagad Fort. Being larger and having higher elevation than Lohagad Fort, Visapur Fort was constructed to guard the Lohagad Fort. Having two trekking routes, trekkers absolutely love this fort as it offers excellent panoramic views.

Tung Fort

Hardly 67 km from Pune and 24 km from Lonavala, Tung Fort was built by the Adil Shahi dynasty. Also known as Kathingad in Marathi, meaning “difficult fort”, it is actually difficult to climb up due to steep climbs and narrow routes. It offers stunning panoramic views of the Maval region, Pawna lake, Mulshi valley, Tikona Fort, Lohagad Fort, and Visapur Fort, this fort also served as a watchtower for many years.

Sinhagad Fort

Sinhagad Fort is situated atop a cliff on the Bhuleshwar range of the Sahyadris, about 36 kilometers southwest of Pune Sinhagad road. Sinhagad Fort, which means “Fort of the Lion,” has a long and illustrious history. It was originally captured by the Mughals before falling into the hands of the Marathas. Tanaji Malusare, a courageous Maratha warrior who fought alongside Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and helped him win the fort, eventually giving his life in the conflict, is honored here. After the defeat of Malusare, Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj famously said, “Gad Ala Pan Sinha Gela,” and the fort was renamed Sinhagad. Lonavala-Khandala

Lonavala, a hill station near Pune and Mumbai which is extremely popular with hikers and trekkers, is undoubtedly one of the most popular places to visit within 64 kilometers of Pune mainland via Mumbai-Pune Highway. It is well-known for its medieval caves, spectacular forts, and splendid lakes. Sir Elphinstone discovered Lonavala in 1871, and it was previously known as Lonali, which means “surrounded by caves.” The Yadava dynasty originally dominated the sparsely populated hill outpost, which is surrounded by deep forest. The Mughals and Peshwas are responsible for the majestic forts’ existence. The territory near Khandala was dominated by Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, the founder of the first Maratha Empire. It was afterward ruled by the Peshwas. When the British vanquished the Peshwas, they took control of the city.

Paradise of Maharashtra: Dapoli

Dapoli is a small town in the Ratnagiri district, being the beautiful beach village as it has always been. It is not only about historic forts, temples, beaches, and an agricultural college but also about being a muse to books like “Garambicha Bapu” and “Shyamachi Aai”. Recently it has come forward as a “Mini-Mahabaleshwar” alluring to its cool climate throughout the year. Unhavare hot springs, Panhalakaji Caves and Parshuram Bhumi are some places with wide tourists’ interest.

Velas, a serene beach town, around 50 km from Dapoli, recently came into the limelight due to the Turtle Festival held here in the summertime. It is actually the breeding season of Olive Ridley Turtles, and this festival is held with the purpose to protect such rare cute creatures. Kelshi, which was known only for its 350-year-old Mahalakshmi temple and beautiful beach earlier, is now an Internationally acclaimed beach. The oldest sand dunes formed by the tsunami in September 1524 have been found here. Kelshi is also significant for the treasures of shells, cowries and conches found here.

Majorly a fishing town, Harnai is just 15 km far from Dapoli. Harnai beach is named “Maharshi Karve” beach as Dapoli is the birthplace of Maharshi Karve. Harnai fort, Suvarnadurga, also renowned as “Shivaji of the Sea”, is the oldest fort surrounded by 3 other small forts. Though almost in ruins, the history attached to it and the interesting story that comes along make the visit totally worth it. Ladghar beach has earned the title of Tamasteerth, for its reddish muddy water. It is also popular for dolphin spotting and water sports like water scooters. Murud and Kolthare are among the lesser-known tranquil beaches, best for family picnics. 

Karde is one of the safest beaches in Konkan, with mixed white and black sand, largely preferred for bird watching and dolphin rides in the deep sea. Dabhol beach is a pristine one and is also well known for Dabhol fort and Dabhol power plant. Anjarle beach has the ” Kadyawarcha Ganapati” temple, dating back to 1150 AD, having a rare Ganesha idol with the right trunk. Guhagar is noteworthy for its 6 km long stunning sand stretch garnished by Coconut trees, Betel nuts, and Alphonso mangoes. The name Guhagar literally translates as “Cave House”. Vyadeshwar temple, which is right in the center of the town, and Ufrata temple mark its religious space. “Paschima” is the spot, where you can purchase all Kokam products.

Just 14 km from Guhagar, the town of Anjanvel stands for Gopalgad fort, a lighthouse built at the steep ridge, and Talkeshwar temple nearby. On the same road, just some km far is the rock-free beach in the town of Velneshwar, also notable for the 1700 year’s old Velneshwar temple. Hedvi, barely at 17 km from Guhagar, has a natural huge gorge, Bahmanghal, a worth watching spot. There is also the Dashabhuja Ganesha temple created in marble stone found in Kashmir. The Jewel of Konkan: Ratnagiri

Cradled amongst the Magnificent Sahyadri ranges, Ratnagiri is famous in the world for its delicious Alphonso mangoes. Jaigad, a protected monument now, built-in 13 acres in the 16th century, is a fort of victory as the name suggests. Believed to be built by Bijapur residents, Kanhoji Angre, commander in chief of Marathas, won it and then developed it as Jaigad harbor in Maratha Empire. Set at the creek, where the Shastri river meets the Arabian sea, Jaigad offers a spectacular view of the bay and surroundings. Ratnadurg fort is another masterpiece as it is built with a structure in the form of a horseshoe. Surrounded by 3 sides, it is spread over 120 acres, owned by Marathas for a long time before Mughals took it over.

Famous temples of Ratnagiri

Swayambhu Ganesh Mandir, set at a beautiful seashore, has a heritage of 400 years and it is one of the most important pilgrimage sites for people in India. Parshuram temple in Chiplun is another sacred place, as he is considered as the sixth incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Shiva temple at Velneshwar is slightly away from the city, however, the surrounding and big banyan trees give it a pure sacred feel. Jai Vinayak temple at Jaigad, and Pawas, where Swami Swaroopanand took his samadhi are another popular Jaigad lighthouse by devotees. 800 years old Shri Kanakaditya Temple, located 40 km from Ratnagiri city, is one of the very few Sun temples in India.

Tilak Ali museum is the old house of Lokmanya Tilak. Marine museum is another popular attraction amongst tourists. Thibaw Point is the palace built as the exile of the Burma king, offers an amazing view of the sunset. Jaigad Lighthouse is a must-visit for tourists, which was completely built by cast iron by the British in 1932. Malgund is a small village famous for the Marathi poet Keshavsut.
