Mystical Vietnam: From Mountains to Mekong

Upon arrival at Hanoi's international airport, our friendly English-speaking guide will welcome you and assist with your transfer to the city center. After check-in (standard time is 14:00–15:00), begin your exploration of Vietnam’s cultural mosaic with a visit to the Vietnam Museum of Ethnology, which showcases the traditions of the country’s 54 ethnic groups (alternate site if closed on Mondays). Enjoy a local café stop near the famous Train Street (drinks not included), followed by a scenic Green Car or Cyclo ride through Hanoi's Old Quarter, ending at the serene Hoan Kiem Lake.

Depart early for Ninh Binh, a province of limestone mountains and rice paddies in the Red River Delta. Visit the historic capital Hoa Lu, home to temples honoring the Dinh and Le dynasties. Continue to the serene Thung Nham Bird Park, a haven for over 40 bird species. Then, drift along in a sampan boat to explore Hang But (Buddhist Cave), where mystical stalactites—including one shaped like a Buddha—guard an underground river. Return to Hanoi in the evening.

Travel by shuttle from Hanoi through scenic farmlands to the breathtaking Halong Bay. Board your traditional wooden junk cruise and set sail through the bay’s emerald waters and towering karsts. Discover hidden caves, floating villages, and quiet beaches throughout the day. Onboard, join a Vietnamese cooking demonstration, enjoy freshly prepared local cuisine, and unwind with evening activities like squid fishing or a cocktail under the stars.

Begin your day with a peaceful Tai Chi session on the sundeck, followed by a light breakfast. Continue cruising to explore more of the bay’s islands and enjoy a hearty brunch onboard. Disembark and return to Hanoi by shuttle. The evening is free for leisure.

After breakfast, board a comfortable limousine bus for a 7-hour journey to Sapa, nestled in the misty mountains of Northern Vietnam. Upon arrival, check in and relax amid the cool, alpine air.

Begin your day with a drive to the Fansipan Cable Car Station. Glide up to 2,800 meters, then trek 600 steps to reach the summit of Fansipan, known as the Roof of Indochina. (Mountain train ticket optional.) In the afternoon, embark on a walking tour of Cat Cat Village, home to the H’Mong people. Visit a French-era hydroelectric station, admire traditional brocade weaving, and observe the vibrant local lifestyle rooted in nature and craftsmanship.

Enjoy a relaxed morning in Sapa before transferring back to Hanoi via limousine bus. The evening is yours to unwind or explore the city on your own.

Take a domestic flight to Danang, Vietnam’s coastal gem. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure to enjoy the beach or explore the city.

Set out for a full-day excursion to Ba Na Hills. Ride the world-renowned cable car for sweeping views, and walk across the breathtaking Golden Bridge, seemingly suspended in clouds by two giant stone hands. Explore the French Village, lush gardens, and optional attractions like the Wax Museum or Alpine Coaster (not included).

In the afternoon, travel to the charming Ancient Town of Hoi An. Discover historic landmarks like the Japanese Covered Bridge, Chinese temples, and a traditional merchant house. As the sun sets, enjoy a tranquil boat ride on the Thu Bon River, where you’ll release colorful lanterns for a magical riverside experience.

Fly to the southern metropolis of Ho Chi Minh City. After airport pick-up and hotel check-in, enjoy free time to relax or explore the bustling city streets.

Venture out to explore the Cu Chi Tunnels, an underground labyrinth used by Vietnamese fighters during the wars. Crawl through tunnels, see hidden bunkers, and visit historic war relics. Return to Saigon and tour major city landmarks including the Presidential Palace, Notre-Dame Cathedral (outside view only), and the impressive Central Post Office, designed by Gustave Eiffel.

Head south to My Tho, gateway to the Mekong Delta. Board a boat to cruise through lush islands and observe traditional industries like coconut candy-making and beekeeping. Visit the tranquil Vinh Trang Pagoda, the oldest in the delta, before returning to Ho Chi Minh City in the afternoon

Enjoy some free time before your driver (no guide) transfers you to the airport for your onward journey.
