Visa Requirements for South Africa
Mandatory Documents
- Valid Passport
- Must be valid at least 30 days beyond intended stay/departure date from South Africa
- Must have at least 2 blank visa pages
- Old/Previous Passport is mandatory (for Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Goa, and Bangalore submissions)
- Visa Application Form – 11 (DHA-84)
- Must be filled in black ink and block letters
- Must be signed by the applicant (signature must match passport signature)
- Photographs
- 2 recent passport-size photos (35mm x 45mm)
- Not older than 30 days
- Bank Statement (Proof of Funds)
- Last 3 months’ bank statement (signed & stamped by bank)
- Minimum balance: ZAR 3000 (or equivalent in INR)
- Must be on bank letterhead with stamp & signature
- Passbook, e-statements, or online banking copies not accepted
- Flight Details
- Confirmed flight ticket OR proof of reservation
- Accommodation Proof
- Hotel booking or stay details in South Africa
- Passport Copies
- Copies of passport bio-data pages (photo page & address/parents page of Indian passports)
- Vaccination Certificate (Yellow Fever)
- Required if applicant travels through or stays in a yellow fever belt country

Invitation & Employment Letters
- Letter of Invitation (from South African host/organizer/company)
- Must include: applicant’s name, passport number, purpose & duration of visit
- Must contain host’s address, contact details, name, designation, and signature
- For Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Goa, Pune & Bangalore:
- Host ID copy attested by Commissioner of Oaths / South African Police (within last 3 months)
- Employer’s Reference/Introduction Letter (from Indian employer)
- Must include: applicant’s name, passport number, purpose & duration of visit
- Must contain company address, contact details, authorized signatory’s name, designation & signature
For Business & Work Visitor’s Visa (Section 11(2))
- Applicants must comply with requirements outlined in DHA-84 form (page 134 & 136)
- Must submit:
- Attested/Certified copy (within last 3 months) of South African ID or foreign passport with valid visa of host company representative
- Invitation Letter signatory (HR/Company Executive) must provide a valid attested Photo ID (latest 3 months) by Commissioner of Oaths
For Minors (Dependent Children)
- Parental Consent Affidavit (as per South Africa requirements – notarized)
- Parents’ Passport Copies

- All documents must be complete, current, and accurate.
- Incomplete or incorrect documentation may lead to rejection.
- The South African Consulate General may request additional documents if necessary.
- Visa issuance is at the sole discretion of the Consulate.
- It is the applicant’s responsibility to ensure all forms and supporting documents are submitted properly.
