Japan Visa Requirements

1. Visa Application Form

• Fill out the Japan Visa Application Form completely.
• Print the form and sign it.
• Ensure the applicant’s mobile number is mentioned for possible Embassy/Consulate contact during processing.

2. Passport Requirements

• Original passport valid for at least 3 months from the date of travel.
• Minimum 2 blank pages for visa stamps.
• Passports over 10 years old will not be accepted as the main travel document.
• Attach all previous passports (if any).
• Not accepted: Handwritten passports, passports with manual entries or data page observations.
• Submit a clear photocopy of the first and last pages of the passport.

3. Photo Specifications

• Two recent photographs: 50mm x 50mm, color, matt/semi-matt finish.
• 80% face coverage, white background, no border.
• Photos must be less than 3 months old, not scanned or stapled, and unused in any previous visa applications.

4. Covering Letter

• From the applicant with:
  • Name, designation, passport number, purpose & duration of visit.
• Addressed to:
  Consulate General of Japan, Mumbai.

5. Essential Documents

1. Original Leave Sanction Letter (from employer).
2. Air Ticket – Confirmed itinerary.
3. Hotel Confirmation – For the full stay.
4. Day-to-Day Itinerary – Detailed travel plan.
5. Financial Documents:
   • Last 2 years ITR copy (acknowledgement/barcode pages) or Form 16.
   • Last 6 months personal bank statement (with bank seal & signature).
   • Last 3 months salary slips.
